Phototrip to Mabul Island, Sabah-Part 1

Masa yang ditunggu-tunggu telah tiba. Setelah merancang perjalanan hampir 2 bulan, 5 orang ahli Jalan-Jalan Cari Foto (JJCF) yang terdiri daripada Aqiera, Nik, Andy, Azli dan saya telah berangkat menaiki pesawat Airasia AK5154 pada jam 4petang (24Jun10)dari LCCT ke Tawau. Penerbangan ke Tawau memakan masa lebih kurang 2 jam setengah dan tiba di Tawau pada jam 6.30pm. Ketibaan kami disambut oleh Abang Abdul yang seterusnya membawa kami ke Sipadan Inn yang terletak di Semporna untuk bermalam disana.

Lepas je check in kat Sipadan Inn, kami pun terus keluar untuk mencari sesuap nasi (maklumlah, masing2 tgh lapar gile time ni...). kami makan kat restoren yang terletak betul2 kat depan hotel tu. Restoran Bismillah (similar name with mamak's stall yang famous kat area Sri Serdang). After taking our dinner, straight away went back to hotel and layan World Cup (Paraguay vs New Zealand). After goalless match, we go to sleep and dream about the next day...

On 25th June 2010, i woke up early in the morning (7am actually) because we will depart to Mabul Island at 9am by speed boat. FYI, sunrise here is about 5.30am so we miss the sunrise on the first day..

Sony NEX-3 & NEX-5 in da hauz..

Semalam aku berpeluang gi KLCC ngan aqiera untuk meracun diri dengan Sony Nex-5 & NEX-3 yang baru saja Sony launh kat Lot 10 Jumaat lepas (xleh nak join sbb ada kat ipoh time tu)..Masuk je sony style KLCC aku trus gi usha NEX..skrg ni trend micro four third camera menjadi kegilaan ramai...maklum la, function n feature macam DSLR tp dari segi saiz memang la kecik..sejak Panasonic and Olympus cipta diorg punya Micro Four Thirds mirrorless system, semua org dok cite pasal benda alah ni...malah ada gak mempertikaikan kemampuan micro four third camera.Well, what can i say, Micro Four Thirds (Panasonic and Olympus) has been steadily building its market share, seemingly without response from the three companies that account for over 80% of DSLR sales (Canon, Nikon and Sony).

Diam2 je Sony pun kuar NEX-3 & NEX-5 to penetrate the market which not what i'm waiting for (currently waiting for 'The Evil' to be launch which i would say will take much longer time to see..) When i first saw it, i wondering whether it can produce same level picture with others (pana & oly) which was proven their quality before. So i just take a few snap and observe that Sony NEX-5 pon BOLEH maa...Not only that, the new Sony NEX-5 shoots AVCHD 1080i video without the focusing hassles of bulkier DSLRs, has a 7 fps burst mode and will even take 3D-ready Sweep Panorama images. How cool is that? We didn’t really know until we took it out of the box and started shooting…oohhh...by the way, currently they still didnt have ready stock for this camera..pre-order for around RM2500 (Sony NEX-5 + SEL 18-55mm F/3.5-F/5.6)..so, go grab one now!!

World Cup 2010 Fever

Lebih kurang 48jam dari sekarang, sepak mula akan bermula...Pertarungan jaguh-jaguh handalan dunia dari 32 buah negara akan mempamerkan aksi-aksi yang bakal menggegarkan dunia. Seperti biasa demam World Cup akan terus menyerang kaki-kaki bola di seluruh dunia. Aku juga tak terkecuali mengidap demam World Cup. Mana taknya, 4 tahun sekali tu. Tuan rumah World Cup 2010 tahun ni ialah Afrika Selatan. Kalaulah aku free and ada duit yang banyak mmg aku nak pergi je Afrika Selatan tgk world cup. Mesti once in a lifetime la...nak harap Malaysia jadi tuan rumah konfem lambat lagi (ada chance ke anyway?). Tahun ni aku rasa 3 team yang aku akan sokong..pelik lak kalau smp 3 teams kan...slalu kena sokong 1 team je la..Spain, Brazil and England..tapi kita tgk dlu la camne..harap2 Spain bleh la menang World Cup..hehehe..

Site Visit at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Tronoh.

Last Friday (4th June 2010), Luminous Fotografix had a chance to visit UTP for outdoor photography session for Azwin & Sufian's wedding day. The site visit went well thanks to our ex-Corelab colleague (Jocelyn Khong) because without her helps, we might lost without transition there..The first pit stop that we headed to is the beautiful mosque of UTP. Located besides the lake, white in color and very stunning architecture. After performing Zohor & Asar prayer there, we headed to the next pit stop, the lecture hall and Canselor Hall. And i found that the Canselor Hall is magnificient piece of architecture and should be the most elegant element for the UTP. The most extraganza and superb architecture is surely UTP's Library. But as a visitor, the library is the most strictly place (without student or staff ID), but look from outside is far enough for me.
